Preamble

Coach is a local decision system for short-term commercial goals. It reads trusted context, exposes the gap in the decision, and leaves the final call in my hands before the next action is logged.

The Decision In The Room

The trap is motion that feels like judgment.

I can ask a model for options, let the answer rank my week, and call the result strategy because the prose sounds orderly. Coach exists at the point where that shortcut is most tempting: active goals, project kickoffs, commercial pressure, and the desire to move before the decision is clear.

The useful output is small. What am I really deciding? Which gap matters first? What external signal would prove movement? What should remain undecided until the first probe comes back?

A Machine Paid To Interrupt The Easy Move

Coach reads a bounded source set: goals, principles, scorecard, profile, selected reports, selected decisions, and project state. Raw private material stays out unless explicitly chosen.

For a kickoff, it should return known missing context, unknown-unknown probes, LLM blind spots, decision traps, first probes, and what to leave undecided. For a weekly review, it should rank active goals by commercial leverage, separate attention bands, and raise the bar for the next week. For a direct question, it should name the decision, the highest-risk open gap, the lens that disagrees most, and the smallest useful action.

That is the mechanism. The useful machine makes evasion harder by forcing the question back to evidence, action, and record.

Lenses With Jobs

Coach starts with abstract lenses because named voices can become costume.

Operator forces movement toward external signal. Editor raises the quality bar before shipping. Strategist protects compounding value. Contrarian names the avoided truth. Taste Critic catches generic output and weak compromises.

Each lens has a job. Each job should disagree with the others often enough to expose the decision. If every lens agrees too cleanly, the review probably became theater.

Commercial Signal Or It Never Happened

The primary metric is commercial signal: revenue, qualified leads, replies, offers, demos booked, shipped commercial artifacts, or validated willingness to pay.

The support metrics are more dangerous because they sound precise: judgment score, speed score, taste score, and rework count. They only matter when they explain a real move. A higher judgment score with no external contact is just a cleaner story about delay.

Coach has to record the decision session, the gaps it found, the action I chose, the signal I pursued, and whether rework followed. The record is the guardrail. Without it, I can remember the session as useful because I felt focused.

The Boundary That Makes It Useful

Coach sits between Constitution, Morning Pages, LLM’s Therapist, 2nd Brain, and Decision Auditor.

Constitution protects agency. Morning Pages can surface patterns. LLM’s Therapist audits flattery and integrity in the reflective loop. 2nd Brain stores trusted context. Decision Auditor pressure-tests evidence, assumptions, options, and risks.

Coach uses those systems only when they sharpen the next commercial decision. Private goals, raw journals, personal profile details, and commercial pipeline records stay local. Personal context earns influence only through source boundaries, explicit selection, and a next proof.

What Exists Now

Coach has an interview-backed README, a project folder, and a registered telemetry identity in constitution.db as project 007. The shared operational tables exist for goals, goal periods, decision sessions, and decision gaps.

The working runtime is still missing.

The first proof is a local project-kickoff gap analysis against one real project. It has to read selected context, produce four gap types, recommend a first probe, record the session against 007, and leave the final decision with me.

Landing requires repeated use: at least three project kickoffs, one named gap that changes a first build decision before execution, and one weekly commercial signal after a Coach-assisted decision.
