Generator Packs

Preamble

A beautiful taste note can fail to change the output. Generator Packs test whether aesthetic judgment can become executable without losing the taste it was built to carry.

Analysis Has To Touch The Artifact

Long aesthetic analysis can sound precise while changing nothing downstream. The generator still reaches for the familiar layout, the familiar lighting, the familiar voice.

A pack has to survive contact with the tool that produces the work. It carries selected references, transferable rules, forbidden motifs, durability warnings, medium constraints, and critique checks in a form a real workflow can load.

The How Is A Compression Test

A pack might convert a taste brief into:

positive prompt -> negative prompt -> reference roles -> settings -> critique rubric

For a quiet editorial image, the pack may keep sparse composition, restrained color, natural light, and human scale. It may ban stock-photo smiling, fake depth-of-field, glossy gradients, and decorative futurism.

The pack has to say what changed during compression. A reference is richer than a prompt. A prompt is easier to execute. The loss is part of the artifact.

The Compression Problem

Every pack compresses judgment. Some information has to be lost. The question is which loss I accept.

A good pack preserves the line between principle and costume. It can borrow grid discipline from one reference, tonal restraint from another, and color tension from a third without pretending the source objects were meant for the same surface.

The First Import Has To Fail Usefully

The first proof is simple: one taste brief compiles into one pack that can be loaded by a real generation workflow.

The pack passes only if the resulting output can be critiqued against the same references and constraints that created it. Pretty output is insufficient. Aligned output has to explain what it preserved, what it changed, and what it ignored.

The unresolved pressure is loss. A pack makes judgment portable by reducing it. The work is deciding which reductions still leave the taste alive.
