Organizational Identity
Preamble
Organizational Identity applies the Character Engine loop to institutions: what they say they are, what they repeatedly do, and where those diverge.
Institutions Have Self-Models
Organizations have self-models too. They state values, reveal priorities through action, revise narratives after pressure, and drift over time. This branch treats that record as something that can be inspected, scored, and updated without letting slogans overwrite behavior.
stated value -> decision -> revealed priority -> drift event -> identity mutation
A crisis can reveal the real hierarchy of values. A pivot can expose which promises were cosmetic. A retraction can show whether the institution changes behavior or only changes the story it tells about behavior.
Narrative Cannot Launder Behavior
The branch can recommend two different repairs: update the stated identity to match revealed behavior, or update behavior to honor the stated identity. That distinction matters because organizations often preserve coherence by rewriting the story after the fact, while Character Engine has to keep the behavioral record in view.
