Judgment Boundary
Preamble
Judgment Boundary checks whether the model is helping me decide or quietly taking the decision away from me.
The Theft Is Often Upstream
The model can steal judgment before it chooses an option. It can name the frame, supply the criteria, decide what counts as evidence, smooth the uncertainty, and make the preferred path feel inevitable.
Borrowed Certainty Has A Shape
The warning signs are concrete: hidden certainty, weak evidence dressed as recommendation, my criteria replaced by model preference, missing options, and conclusions that make the final choice feel outsourced.
The Boundary Is The Cost
The model can pressure, retrieve, compare, and warn. My risk tolerance, bills, shame, appetite, duty, and authority to stop stay outside the model. If the final choice feels cheaper because the model said it well, the boundary has already moved.
