Preamble

Assumption Ledger names the places where the response had to guess, invent, soften, avoid, or leave the wound unresolved.

Comfort Has To Sign Its Name

The model will know how to comfort. It will know how to make absence answerable. It will know how to turn a sparse record into a fluent voice. The ledger makes that fluency pay a toll.

Every response attempt needs a record of what was inferred, invented, softened, avoided, and left unresolved. The ledger is written before polish, while the draft still shows where it needed help.

Invention Can Be Allowed

Some invention may belong in the response. A sentence can carry emotional truth while standing on visible uncertainty. The danger begins when invention borrows the authority of memory or source.

The ledger gives invention a label. It lets the writer feel the sentence without pretending the sentence arrived from the absent person. It also names the mode: what the traces support, what the relationship suggested, and what the writer needed to be true.

The Sycophant Lives Here

The ledger is where the easy answer gets interrogated. Did the model flatter the letter? Did it make forgiveness too available? Did it erase anger because tenderness reads better? Did it give the absent person a wisdom the record never earned? Did it turn witness into resolution because resolution reads cleaner?

Assumption Ledger succeeds when comfort remains possible and hidden certainty loses its hiding place.
